Summer Isles is from a set of pieces entitled Kin.
'I’ve visited the Summer Isles, of the west coast of Scotland, many times since a small boy. I associate this piece motoring to the Isles, cutting through the waves with spray and sun in your face.'
Most of the pieces making up this collection were first recorded in a series of videos - one a day for 50 days - that the composer made during the first few weeks of 'lockdown'.
Since then these pieces have been organised into three separate sets/albums and re-recorded for CD release.
Kin is the first album of this group of three. The CD, as well a printed volume of sheet music, is currently in production and should be available from Mid August 2020 (assuming lockdown does not cause any unexpected delays)
